Summary: KUALA LUMPUR Police plan to equip all 30,000 policemen on 24-hour patrol beats with Taser guns, the less-lethal weapon used in developed countries on fleeing or belligerent suspects. 210 X26s had been distributed nationwide since the middle of the year to police contingents and units. Already used once in Malacca.

Police plan to equip all 30,000 policemen on 24-hour patrol beats with Taser guns, the less-lethal weapon used in developed countries on fleeing or belligerent suspects.. Due to budget cuts, the present number was reduced to 1,000 and finally to 210 guns at a cost of RM2.1 million.
